Madeleine Primavera Bailey is a multidisciplinary artist working across visual and literary media. She creates collages exploring space and time, and is inspired by (in)complete sentences, (failures of) perception and (mis)communications.
Madeleine holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC, Painting and Drawing) and an AB from Brown University (Visual Art, Literary Art, Cognitive Neuroscience).
Madeleine accidentally shattered her right foot in 2017. Feet are not friendly.
She has an active curatorial practice and has served as a faculty member in SAIC's Low-Residency MFA program. Madeleine has been awarded residencies at OxBow, the Vermont Studio Center, the Chicago Artists Coalition's BOLT program (funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation), and ACRE (Stuben, WI).
She splits her time between Long Island City, NY and Chicago, IL.
